Predicting Coronavirus Anxiety Based on Cognitive Emotion Regulation Strategies, Anxiety Sensitivity, and Psychological Hardiness in Nurses

Introduction: with regards  to the corona virus emerging disease and the importance of their anxiety on mental health nurses, The aim of this study was to evaluate the prediction of corona anxiety based on cognitive emotion regulation strategies, anxiety sensitivity and psychological hardiness in nurses.
Methods: This study was cross-sectional from type of correlationa. The statistical population of the study was all nurses working in hospitals in Karaj in the last quarter of 1399, from which 400 people were selected by convenience sampling. In this study, coronary heart disease (CDAS), Cognitive Emotion Regulation (CERQ), Anxiety Sensitivity Inventory (ASI-R) and Psychological Hardness Scale (PHS) were used to collect data. The collected data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate regression analysis with enter  model SPSS-19 software.
Results: The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between cognitive regulation strategies of maladaptive emotion and anxiety sensitivity with coronary anxiety (P <0.01). There is a significant negative relationship between adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies and psychological hardiness with coronary anxiety (P <0.01). Also, the results of multiple regression analysis revealed that 61.9% of the variance of coronary anxiety is explained by cognitive regulation of emotion, anxiety sensitivity and psychological hardiness.
Conclusions: According to the results, to reduce coronary anxiety in nurses, programs can be designed to increase positive cognitive emotion regulation strategies and their psychological toughness and reduce negative cognitive emotion regulation strategies and their anxiety sensitivity and implemented through electronic and virtual workshops.
