Abstract:   (709 Views)

Introduction: Several factors may disrupt the emotional health of nurses and lead to negative coping behaviors such as the tendency to use drugs. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the role of dissociative experiences, mindfulness and loneliness in predicting the tendency to use substance in nurses.
Methods: The method of this study was descriptive-correlation. The statistical population was formed by all the nurses of Tehran city in 2023. From among the statistical population, 220 nurses working in Tehran hospitals were selected as convenience sampling and answered the scale of analytical experiences, the scale of mind-awareness assessment, the questionnaire of feelings of loneliness and the scale of readiness for addiction. The collected data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis in SPSS-24 software.
Results: The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between dissociative experiences and loneliness with the tendency to use drugs (P<0.01). there is a negative and significant relationship between mindfulness and the tendency to use drugs (P<0.01). Also, the results of the multiple regression analysis revealed that 0.684 of the variance of the active tendency to use substance and 0.638 of the variance of the passive tendency to use substance in nurses is explained by dissociative experiences, mindfulness and loneliness.
Conclusions: The result of the research shows the significant role of analytical experiences, mindfulness and loneliness in predicting the tendency to use substance in nurses; Therefore, health care systems should focus resources on supporting the psychological and emotional health of nurses, and in this regard, special attention should be paid to the role of the components of this study in order to design effective therapeutic interventions with the aim of preventing the tendency to drug use in nurses.
