Relationship between happiness and productivity among nurses

Introduction: One of the vital key in productivity in health care organizations is human resources. So, one of the essential steps in productivity promotion is recognition causes in it; such as happiness, quality of work life, job satisfaction and etc.
Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship
between happiness and productivity among nurses.
Method: This study was cross-sectional that was done in 2014in one of the hospital in Kordkou city. By census sampling (130) nurses who worked in that hospital were completed questionnaires for data gathering. Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (2007) and Heresy Goldsmith productivity (2012) questionnaires were used. Their validity and reliability were measured in another studies in Iran .Data was analyzed by SPSS16.
Results: The mean of happiness and productivity of nurses were (74/44±5/86) and (69/43±8/89) respectively. There was a significant positive correlation between nurses’ happiness and their productivity (r=%46).
Conclusion: It would be suggested to nurse managers that they provide  happiness program in hospital for nurses; such as happiness training  or workshops that they would be promoted nurses’ happiness and productivity.
