Abstract: (3302 Views)
Introduction: Families are the most basic social unit. Healthy relations between couples are a prerequisite to a healthy society. Numerous factors are affecting such relationships, including emotion regulation and sexual function, which both address marital issues as well.
Methods: The study population consisted of all married male nurses (N=130) in the city of Bojnurd, during 2019. This study was carried out on 100 nurses selected through a convenience sampling technique via using Morgan's sample size determination table. In the present correlational study, the data was collected using Granofsky's cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire (2006), Farajnia's martial sexual function scale questionnaire (2014), and Sanaei's marital conflicts questionnaire (2000). This study used Pearson's correlation and multiple regressions to analyze data.
Results: Our findings showed a negative significant correlation between positive emotion regulation, its components, and marital conflicts, and between sexual function, its components, and marital conflicts. Also, a positive significant association was observed between negative emotion regulation, its components, and marital conflicts.
Conclusions: The results revealed significant multiple correlations between emotion regulation, sexual function, and marital conflicts. The results of stepwise multiple regressions showed that sexual function and negative emotion regulation are the strongest predictor variables of marital conflicts, which come after positive emotion regulation.
