Background:Providing nursing care should be quality, safe and effective.To ensure the participation and satisfaction of patients and families.To achieve it, it is necessary to use the method of division of labor or to use the model of providing effective nursing care.The aim of this study was to compare the two methods of division of primary nursing work and case nursing on the satisfaction of patients' families in the special care department.
Methods:This study was a clinical trial in two non-parallel groups, first the data of the case method was collected and after the implementation of the necessary preparations for the primary nursing method, the study population was 45 people from the families of patients admitted to the ward.Special care for adults.The tools of data collection were demographic characteristics and family satisfaction questionnaire of patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit of 24FS-ICU.The collected data was analyzed with SPSS version 25 and independent t-test. Results: Based on the findings, the demographic characteristics patients families did not have a statistically significant difference during the implementation of the two methods (p>0.05). Also, the average score of satisfaction of the families of hospitalized patients in the two case methods (22.1±57.91) and primary nursing (82.75±13.73) had a significant difference (p=0.0001). Conclusion: Based on the findings, the provision of nursing care in the primary nursing method increased the satisfaction of the hospitalized patient's family compared to case nursing in the special care department. Therefore, it is recommended that it be given more attention in the management planning of nursing care.
