Introduction: Emergency medicalStaff are exposed to occupational stressors, in this context, social support as a psychosocial resource can play a key role in moderating the relationship between job stress and its consequences. Methods: The present study is a descriptive-correlational study aimed at examining the relationships among job stress, job satisfaction, and mental health, considering the mediating role of social support, among emergency medical Staff in Ahvaz. The study population consisted of all staff employed at these centers, a total of 278 individuals were enrolled in the study using a convenience sampling method. In this study, four questionnaires were used to collect data, a demographic information, the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) by Weiss et al (1967), the Medical Outcomes Study Social Support Survey (MOS-SS) by Sherbourne and Stewart (1991), the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Job Stress Questionnaire (1990), and the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) by Goldberg. Results: The mean age of the participants was 40.37 ± 4.15 years. The majority held a bachelor's degree (52.5%), were male (66.2%), and had 11 to 15 years of work experience (32.7%). Correlation analysis revealed that social support was positively correlated with job satisfaction (r=0.732) and mental health (r=0.208), and negatively correlated with job stress (r=0.421). Furthermore, a relationship existed between job stress and mental health among the staff, with social support acting as a mediating factor (p=0.000). A relationship was also found between job satisfaction and mental health, mediated by social support (p=0.000). Conclusion: The study results indicate a relationship between job satisfaction and mental health, mediated by social support. The findings suggest that social support received from supervisors and colleagues can act as a buffer against stress for emergency medical service Staff. This support assists them in managing work-related psychological pressures, ultimately leading to increased job satisfaction, reduced job stress, and improved mental health.
