Corona Nurses' Lived Experience of Moral Distress while Performing Organizational Duties

ntroduction: Among people working in the health sector, nurses have the largest number and due to the direct relationship between the nurse and the patient, this profession is of particular importance. The aim of this study was to understand the lived experience of corona nurses from moral distress among nurses working in hospitals affiliated to Zahedan University of Medical Sciences in the corona ward in Zahedan in 1399.
Methods: The present study is applied in terms of purpose and in terms of method of data collection in a qualitative way with semi-structured interviews and in terms of examining the lived experience of individuals (phenomenology). Therefore, in-depth and semi-structured interviews were conducted with 22 corona nurses for 30 to 70 minutes. Qualitative data were then obtained from in-depth and semi-structured interviews with participants. The data of this qualitative study were analyzed by content analysis method.
Results: In this research, for the theme of moral distress, three concepts have been obtained: 1) errors, 2) non-observance of moral principles, and 3) improper allocation of responsibilities and competencies.
Conclusions: Finally, the concepts obtained are three negative individual consequences with codes of distress and failure - anonymity - lack of motivation - frustration - decreased self-esteem - negative social consequences with codes of reduced well-being and emotional problems - the emergence of social and psychological damage - error Auras and stereotypes - negative organizational consequences with system inefficiency codes - less commitment - frustration and leaving the organization - reduced productivity - reduced quality and quantity of services.
