Abstract:   (8 Views)
Background: Investigating patients' satisfaction with the quality and quantity of nursing services can help managers to improve the situation and provide feedback to nursing staff. The purpose of this study was to investigate patient satisfaction with nursing services in Kashan hospitals of Kashan University of Medical Sciences in 2024.
Methods: This descriptive-analytical study was conducted in 2024 on patients hospitalized in hospitals affiliated with Kashan University of Medical Sciences. The study included 470 patients and utilized the "Newcastle Nursing Satisfaction Scale." The questionnaires distributed among the patients were collected manually after completion and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical tests.
Result: 414 questionnaires were analyzed. The mean ± standard deviation of the Experiences of nursing care scale was 61.89 ±9.23 and the Satisfaction with nursing care scale was 70.30 ±19.30 out of 100 points.
The correlation between nursing care experiences and satisfaction with nursing care was 0.734, based on the Spearman test 0.734 (P-value < 0.001). There were no significant differences in scores for nursing care experiences and Satisfaction with nursing care based on age, gender, marital status, or place of residence. However, scores on both scales differed significantly across hospitals (P < 0.001), and post-hoc test results indicated that the differences between hospitals were significant.
Conclusion: Satisfaction with nursing care was above average, and demographic variables did not significantly influence patients' satisfaction scores. Given the variations in Experiences of nursing care and satisfaction levels across different hospitals, periodic assessments of patient satisfaction could provide more precise evidence regarding nursing staff performance and patient satisfaction levels.

Keywords: Nursing services, satisfaction, patient, Newcastle Satisfaction with Nursing Scales (NSNS).
