Introduction: Organizational learning is an important way to improve long-term performance. In terms of organizational learning, hospitals are in a special position and nurses as an organizational knowledge resources and important element of knowledge transfer had a main role in organizational learning process.
Aim: The present study was aimed to determine the organizational learning capabilities among nurses in (2013) in hospitals affiliated to Rafsanjan University of Medical Sciences.
Methods: In this descriptive study, participants were all of nurses in Rafsanjan hospitals with at least one year work experience and interest for participation in research. Data were collected using demographic questionnaire and Gomez's organizational learning capability questionnaire (2005) that was completed by self reported. Reliability of the questionnaire was confirmed Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient was (0.87) that confirmed reliability. Data were analyzed using the version 18 of SPSS software with ANOVA and independent t- test.
Results: Data analysis showed that total mean scores of organizational learning capabilities was (49.1±9.68) that from Likert Scales was moderate. Highest mean score was related to problem solving through previous documented experiences (3.67±.86) and least mean of scores was related to involvement of nurses in decision making (2.54±1.11).
Conclusion: According to the results, changing managers, perspective for involvement of nurses in decision making and having systems perspective, consideration of individuals' capabilities and clarification of goals by them is the proposed methods that can be effective in promoting of organizational learning.
